Compensation after being rude to one's parents
Q: I am a 17 years old boy. Many times I have shouted at my parents, but now I have asked forgiveness from them and they have forgiven me.
My questions:
1. Will Allah also forgive me if my parents have forgiven me?
2. Will this behavior of mine towards my parents affect my career in the future?
A:
1. Definitely. Compensate for the past in serving your parents with love and affection. Endure any difficulty that comes from their way and continue making dua for them. Allah willing, Allah will count you as a very obedient child and you will be rewarded with all the merits of an obedient child.
2. Take the steps that we have suggested and show them all the respect and love. Who knows, Allah will grant you even more than many others. This is subject to your level of sincerity, kindness, love and obedience you show to them. Let it be mainly for the love of Allah, not in order to secure a career.
