Durood Shareef

Q: Recently a radio station hosted a programe on sending durood sharief. If one only recites durood sharief, is it not giving preference over Allah's zikr.

A: Reciting Durood Shareef upon Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is also one form of Zikr.

And Allah Ta'ala knows best.

 إِنَّ اللَّـهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا ﴿الأحزاب: ٥٦﴾

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّـهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا ﴿الأحزاب: ٤١﴾
