Giving money to someone to perform hajj for esaal-e-thawaab

Q:

1. Can a sum of money be given to a person going for hajj for sawaab for a marhoom who never made hajj?

2. What would constitute a fair amount to be given?

A:

1. Yes.

2. The amount required to fulfil the hajj.
