Q: What is the correct understanding of an eclipse and performing Salaatul Kusoof?
Is this a warning of azaab? Is it something a person should look forward to seeing? What should be told to children?
A: These are signs of Allah Ta`ala through which Allah Ta`ala warns His servants. If you see great signs then understand the power, might and glory of Allah Ta`ala. Get into namaaz, istighfaar and sadaqah. Looking at it is not amongst the aadaab shown in the hadeeth.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
