Q: If a persons qurbaani animals horn is broken at the time of slaughtering, will this animals horn be weighed on the day of qiyaamah?

1. A person purchased a qurbaani animal which had a rope on. What should be done with the rope after slaughtering the animal?

2. Is there any difference in the ruling for a rich and poor person?

1. When a person performs one’s personal obligatory qurbani, for example one sheep, and intend donating the reward to the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) or some other deceased individual, will the person performing the qurbani and the deceased get the full reward of qurbani?

2. In the above mentioned situation, when performing one's own obligatory qurbani like a sheep, can the reward of the qurbani be conveyed to multiple people (deceased or alive)?

Q: My family has a “tradition” of colouring our sheep each year, usually with food colouring to make it look bright and colourful. Our intention is to beautify and decorate it as it’s for Allah, and it’s also a way to get closer to and form a bond with the sheep as we touch it and hold it etc. Is there any harm to this?

Q: Nowadays it happens that during Qurbani, for excitement, one animal is let loose after cutting it, so that it runs around in this bleeding condition. What is the status of such an act in shareeat?

Q: Every year, on the days of qurbaani, my father appoints another person to carry out the slaughtering of a cow on our behalf (we are 4 members as a family). This is done every year with the knowledge of all the members.

Q: In respect of Wajib quarbaani, is there any merit in slaughtering two animals and not just one? And can the meat of the one animal be retained wholly for oneself and only the meat of the second animal distributed?

Q: What is the ruling regarding the following situation:

Certain organisations, before the days of Qurbaani, purchase animals which they intend to sell to the public and also carry out nafl Qurbaanis on behalf of the public. After slaughtering the animals on behalf of the public, they distribute the meat among the poor in indigenous areas. All the meat of these animals is given in sadaqah and nothing comes to the purchasers. The way the animals are purchased is that people contact the organisations telephonically or via email and purchase animals. Those purchasing the animals do not see the animals nor do they select the animals, and nor do the organisations select any animal on behalf of the purchaser at the time of purchase. However, since the organisation knows the number of animals they possess and wish to sell, they continue selling to the public till all the animals are sold. On the day of Qurbaani, these animals are slaughtered by the organisations and distributed among the poor.

a. Is it necessary at the time of purchasing the animals to select the animals one wishes to purchase for the nafl Qurbaani?

b. Is this method of purchasing the animals and carrying out the nafl Qurbaani correct? If this is not the correct method, then what is the correct Shar’ee method of purchasing the Qurbaani animals and getting the animals slaughtered on one’s behalf by the organisations?
