Durood Tunjeena

Q: Is the Durood Tunjeena appropriate to recite or is it shirk? Some people say that it is a means of cure and solution for many problems etc.

A: Reciting this durood is not shirk. It is permissible for one to recite this durood provided one does not regard it to be a Sunnah. Reciting any durood is rewarding, even though it is not reported in the Hadith, on condition that the words of the durood are correct. There is no doubt in the benefit people have received through reciting this durood. It should however be borne in mind that these benefits are not proven through the Hadith, instead they are proven through the experience of individuals.

N.B. Though it is permissible to recite this durood, it is more virtuous and rewarding for one to recite the durood that is reported in the Ahaadith.

And Allah Ta'ala knows best.
