Q: There are those Muslims who do a lot of sin but also do good deeds. Like they would go clubbing and listen to music, not wear scarf, be in haraam relationships etc but still give charity, sometimes read salaah and they’d fast etc . So how does the saying : “you will die as you lived” apply to them when they live by doing both good and bad? How will they be dealt with in the hereafter , will they pay for their sins in jahhannum and then be rewarded for their good deeds in Jannah after or how does it work if they are not forgiven?
A: This pertains to the hereafter, and it is known best to Allah Ta`ala alone. However, such people should be very careful lest their minds don't slip more into haraam and they die while engaged in that haraam or with great love and passion for that haraam.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
