Q: If we have a lot problems, one finishes and another starts, can we ask any Aalim or any roohaani Aalim to give us the solution according to the Qur'an and Sunnah? Is it permissible because some one said that it is shirk to tell someone your problems. Please guide me.
A: If you refer to a roohaani person who informs you of the unseen and creates doubts and suspicions by accusing people without shar'i proof, then this obviously is impermissible. However, if you refer to taking Islamic advice and counsel from a pious, qualified Aalim who will guide one towards the Sunnah, then this is recommended in Islam. In fact this was the method during the time of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and the centuries that followed, that people sought Islamic guidance from those who were learned and qualified. This will not be regarded as shirk.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
