Obtaining permission to recite duas and supplications

Q: Is it essential to obtain permission to read duas and supplications from books and from websites which you believe are from a reliable source? Do you need permission to read the dua asked by another person answered online? Is it permissable for women to shave?

A:

  1. If it is a reliable website (and there is nothing on the website that opposes the Shari'ah) and the duas are authentically sourced from the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), then it will be permissible for one to recite those masnoon duas and benefit from it. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) had given permission, so one would not require any additional permission from anybody else to recite the masnoon duas.
  2. If the Dua is sourced from the Ahaadith, one will not require permission.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
