Aalim sharing a platform with a faasiq

Q:

1. Is it correct for an aalim to share a platform with a faasiq?

2. Can an aalim write on behalf of a website who's founder and editor in chief is a faasiq?

3. Is it correct for an aalim to give the impression that he is in favor of digital photography by allowing his name listed as an editor, writer and researcher for a website which is brimming with animate photography and videos? Will the rulings change if these things are done with the intention of spreading the the deen?

A: The ulama are the naaibeen (representatives) of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). Hence, an aalim should be an example of the sunnah in all respects, in his speech, actions, endeavours and lifestyle. He should only promote the way of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) wherever he goes and in whatever he does. It is not at all permissible for any aalim to promote the ways of the kuffaar or fussaaq or associate with them in their haraam activities. Such involvement goes against his representation of our beloved Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
