Q: A person has two saving accounts with different banks. One account accumulates interest, the other does not. Is it necessary to discharge this interest from this very account, or can it be given through other means (payment from the second account or cash)?
A: Both ways are permissible. The money may be withdrawn from the same account and given to some poor person without the intention of receiving any reward, or alternatively one may give it from another account or from one's personal money to a poor person without the intention of receiving any reward.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
