- It comes in the Hadith about zuhr sunnats that time the heavens are open. Does that mean we should read our zuhr sunnats immediately after zuhr time begins to get this virtue.
- How do you work out zuhr begining time? When is zawaal how long before zuhr? If zuhr starts at 1:12. Can you read nafl at 1:00. If zuhr starts at 1:12, can you read sunnats after Azaan? I heard you should wait 5 minutes. Why is that?
- Sun rising, setting and zawaal you can't read anything. Can you bury someone at that time?
A:
- There are two opinions of the Muhadditheen (Commentators of Hadith) in regards to the Hadith in question. Some say that this Hadith refers to the four rakaats sunnah of Zuhr, while others say that it refers to four rakaats that is performed before the time of zawaal.
- The time of zuhr commences after the sun passes the zenith. This time will defer during different seasons of the year. As a precaution one may perform the zuhr sunnats approximately ten minutes after this time.

عن عبد الله بن السائب، أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كان يصلي أربعا بعد أن تزول الشمس قبل الظهر، وقال: إنها ساعة تفتح فيها أبواب السماء، وأحب أن يصعد لي فيها عمل صالح وفي الباب عن علي، وأبي أيوب: حديث عبد الله بن السائب حديث حسن غريب» وروي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه كان يصلي أربع ركعات بعد الزوال، لا يسلم إلا في آخرهن (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 478)
( كان يصلي أربعا بعد أن تزول الشمس ) قال العراقي هي غير الأربع التي هي سنة الظهر قبلها وتسمى هذه سنة الزوال (تحفة الأحوذي 2/479)
