Q: Is it haraam to have a Western will? The Islamic ruling related to who inherit is not my preference, can someone out of my family also inherit?
A: The laws of inheritance are not optional, they are binding and the shares are all stipulated. Nobody stipulates the share of an heir. Hence, no Muslim can say that the Islamic law of inheritance is not my preference. It is only a kaafir who can say this, as he has got nothing to do with Islam or the laws of Islam.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
