Zakaat on jewellery given to a child

Q: If I give my minor child pure gold jewellery, do I have to pay zakaat on it?

A: If you give the child the jewellery, then the child will be the owner of the jewellery and zakaat will not be compulsory upon it as zakaat is not compulsory upon minors.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
