Turning to Allah Ta'ala in all conditions

Q: This last year has been a pretty rough patch right up until now. I used to do the the bear minimum, 5 times salaah, smile, talk good to people.

Ramadaan time this year was the first year that I woke up for tahajud every single day, making dua and asking Allah for certain things, asking for forgiveness, etc. But I feel like none of the duas have gotten accepted.

Even now, I still feel like my duas are not being accepted. Please assist.

A: In whichever condition a believer is in, he should turn to Allah Ta'ala, remain obedient to Him and be pleased with His decree. Allah Ta'ala knows what is good for each servant at every moment in his life.

The duas which a person makes to Allah Ta'ala, Allah Ta‘ala definitely answers his duas. However, acceptance can come in one of three ways.

1) One receives the thing one had asked for.
2) Allah Ta'ala removes some difficulty from one's life.
3) Allah Ta'ala makes the dua a means of one gaining a treasure of reward and goodness in the Hereafter.

Therefore, do not lose hope and continue to beg Allah Ta'ala for His grace and mercy.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
