Ruling when a woman bleeds before a complete 15 day clean period from her last haidh

Q: My wife has the following questions and I would greatly appreciate if you could assist me with a response.

1. With regards to haidh, if bleeding occurs before a complete 15 day clean period from your last haidh, I was taught that you wait for the 15 complete days and then your haidh begins. Recently I was told that in this situation it will be necessary to apply your previous valid haidh and valid purity to determine your haidh days. Please can Muftisaab direct me to the correct masla.

2. If you are travelling further than your saffar distance (i.e. when you are a musafir) and a ghusul for completion of haidh is taken in this place, will full salaah or saffar salaah need to be performed?

A:

1. The correct sharee ruling is that if bleeding occurs before a complete fifteen day tuhr period, then a woman should revert to her previous habit of haidh and tuhr.

2. If a woman travelled for the safar distance in the state of haidh and upon reaching her destination, she became paak, then she should make ghusl and perform full salaah. She will not perform qasr salaah.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
