Q: I kindly request you to answer my few questions clearly:
- Is all the types of tarannums like, bayyati, hijazi, sikah, jiharkaah, saba, nahawand, rast etc which exist today is jaiz in the view of deobandi ulamas?
- Is this a virtuous deed to study different types of tarannums? If so what intention should we make before starting to learn?
- Can we listen to Egyptian qurras who don't have beard? Does their qiraat and tarannum have an authentic chain which reaches to our Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)?
- It is clear that some tarannum needs more breadth and learner should work very hard to achieve the goal. Is this a sunnah to work hard only for the sake of tarannum or it is like putting oneself into trouble which he cannot bear?
A: Our ulama had focused more on correct recitation and pronunciation in a natural and beautiful voice.
It is best to refrain from all this.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
