Q: Surah Talaaq mentions “And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out.” Are some of the mufasireen of the opinion that this is specifically related to matters of rizq/provision?
A: It is not restricted to sustenance.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: Hazrat Muftisaab mentions that the verse is not restricted to sustenance. On that note, when the ayat speaks about a way out for the person who fears Allah, could this mean that it will not necessarily be in the dunya that this person finds relief, but it could be that the person will have to wait until he gets into the Akhirah to get relief from the difficult circumstance? (As in this person who fears Allah will most definitely find ease in his situation but he might have to wait until he dies to do so?) The reason for asking is that we sometimes see Muttaqi people go through sufferings and sometimes they even die in that condition. One instance could be illness that the Muttaqi individual never recovers from (Sultan Salahhudin al Ayyubi rahmatullahi alayh comes to mind). Another example is when some Muttaqi people for their entire lives are unable to have children despite their ardent desire to do so.
A: The Aayat refers to finding a solution or an exit for one in one's problems whether it relates to the problems of this life or the next. Finding a solution to one's problems does not have to be in the way one imagines, instead Allah Ta'ala will bless one in the way it is best for the person. Like a son who asks his father for a gift (e.g. a cellphone) whereas the father knows that the cellphone in not good for the son at this time in his life. Thus the father does not give him what he wants but he deposits R50000 into the child's bank account. Definitely the child will not value and appreciate the gift of the father immediately. However later on the child will realize that this was the best thing for him. Similarly a person who is desirous of children or a person who experiences ill health and sickness, if they turn to Allah Ta'ala and adopt taqwa, then Allah Ta'ala will bless them with something that is best for them.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
