Recipients of Zakaat

Q: My father's sister who is above 60 years is a diabetic patient and has no kids to support her. Her husband died last year as well so she is alone by her own because her brothers and sisters have already died. We support her financially from Zakat money because she had no source of income at all. After her husband died, she got some money which her husband had saved in the bank and that money is equivalent to US$7,000.00. Can we still continue supporting her from Zakaat money as she still does no have any source of income? Please advise.

Q: A woman had some gold jewellery worth of giving zakat. She sold all her jewellery and started constructing a house for herself and her brother who also invested some percentage in the house and not even 50 percent is completed and she has ran out of money for house completion. Is she eligible for zakaat and can she utilize the money for construction?

Q: A person had enough wealth to perform Hajj but he had spent those. Now he wants to perform Hajj but lacks in enough wealth though he is sahib-e-nisaab. Can zakaat be given to him to perform his compulsory hajj considering it as 'sabeelullah'?

Q: My driver in Karachi is a healthy strong man, I pay him salary (about the same as other drivers of similar job get). However he has children and his salary is not enough. He needs money to maintain his motor cycle, to pay children fees. One thing that bothers me is that he is sending his children to a school which is cheapest in the area where he works but is expensive considering his class of people where he lives. Is it jaíz for me to help him with zekat after making sure his total assess are less than the "nisab"? The question arose because in a "waaz"of Helkiymul-ummet reHimehullah, he quotes mewlana Gangohi reHimehullah as saying it is Heram for healthy strong person to beg and it is not jaíz to give Sedeqeh to such persons.

Q: Can a woman spend her zakaat money to send her father-in-law and mother-in-law for umrah without letting them know that she has financed the trip as they want to go from some time but don't have enough money.

Q: Is it permissible or advisable to use zakaat funds for the upkeep of the graveyard?

Q: What will happen to a person if they have the nisaab amount and still accept zakaat even though they are fully aware of this?

Q: I have given zakaat money six times the nisaab amount to my sister. Can I give her another amount of zakaat after three months similar to the first amount?

Q: My question is about zakaah. In the UK, we have some muslim women begging outside the mosque. Can we give zakah to these women?
