Walima

Q: I got married i.e 08-08-2011 and I did not make waleemah and we have 1 child. Please guide us according to Qur'an and Hadith.

Q: Should food be prepared for the nikah or only for the walimah? Must it be the cheapest possible, like fresh fruit and vegetables instead of biryani?

Q: If the walimah takes place after seclusion instead of consummation of the marriage would the sunnat be fulfilled?

Q: Is it permissible to have the Walima 1 or 2 weeks after the Nikah, or does it have to be done within 3days after the Nikah?

Q: What is the requirement for Walima? Is it necessary that the bridegroom has sex with his bride and then has the walima the next day. If the bride has her periods on the wedding night and the bridegroom cannot have sex with her can the walima be performed the next day? Will the walima be valid or not? Please answer in the light of Quran and Sunnah.

Q: After the nikaah till how many days can the walima be held?

Q: How long after the nikaah can the walimah be held i.e. how many days after the nikaah?
