Q: Is eating on a dining table permissible? Does it count as bidat?

Q: I’ve been told eating on a dining table is ‘haram’. However both me and my wife suffer from lumbar disk spondylosis and are under medical advisement to not exert ourselves too much. She can’t sit, stand or squat for a prolonged period of time. So for convenience and health’s sake my family dines on a table. Please clarify if it is indeed haram to eat in this manner and if permissible what are the conditions for it?

Q: I know someone who has an eating disorder; when advised to eat by her parents she refuses and advises that she is putting on 'too much weight'. Is there a ruling in Islam regarding this to explain to her that what she is doing is wrong?

Q: The Fuqaha have mentioned that at the time of tilawaat, azaan and eating, if salaam is made to a person then the salaam does not have to be returned. Q: I heard an Aalim say that the Kitaabs of hanafi fiqh state that there is no problem with eating while leaning.
