Income of a person working in a newspaper company and a bank

Q:

1. What is the ruling on the income generated by working for a newspaper. The newspapers contain pictures, news which have the elements of backbiting, blaming, etc. Can we eat from the homes of these newspaper owners or their employees? They are close relatives and it will be difficult not to eat/drink while visiting them?

2. How about eating at the homes of bank emoloyees in the similar situation of being close relatives? Would the sin be greater if we eat there than eating in  the newspaper employees?

Goodwill pagdi system

Q: I have a question related to an old rented property system called pagdi system. My friend had a shop in 2002 and he wanted to give it for rent. But unfortunately the old pagdi rented system was imposed at that time and most of the properties were rented on this system. So he also accepted the pagdi rented system and gave it for pagdi rent based...

The rules in this system are mentioned below:

1) The total price of the shop is 200 000

2) The owner gets half of the amount 100 000 at the start of the pagdi rented system from the tenant

3) The rent was fixed at Rs 700 per month and after every 11 months 10% has to be increased. For e.g. If the rent was Rs 700 in 1st Jan 2002, then on 12th Dec 2002 the amount of rent has to be increased by 10% (700×10÷100=70)

4) So After 11 months, the amount is Rs 770 which again has to be increased by 10% after 11 months

5) The whole system is based on that and continues.

6) The amount of the shop now in 2017 is approx. 20 000 000

My question is that the Ulama gave the fatwa that pagdi system is haraam in Islam. All the pagdi system has to be ended and only the pure rented income is halaal. So after this, my question is that my Friend is the owner of the shop but the tenant left the shop in 2012 due to some personal reasons and also informed my friend who is the owner of the shop that he left the shop and he will come back soon but he did not come back after one year. He took out all of his furniture, assets and everything from the shop and also can't give any rent From 2012 to 2017  My Freinds Shop Was Closed And he did not get any Benefit from it He File the Case with the Court About all this situation And After Few Years The Court Ordered him the Case In his favour As An Ex Partee (Because the tenant Not Presented in Any Session of the Court) And My Freind Declared  as a Legal owner of the Shop  By The Court Of Law... It Is Halal To get The Shop In this way? Because We live in An Islamic Ideology State Pakistan And All The Rules & Regulation Of the Court Law is based on the Principles of Islam...

Q Is My Friend Feel Free In All this Way that it is Halal?

Q Is he be able to do his business in this shop According to Islam?

Rental dispute

Q: I stay in a rented apartment which is being shared between six people including me. A few days ago my friend (ex-roommate) had come to stay at our place for few days, and as a good gesture my other roommates allowed him to stay, but due to some unavoidable circumstances his stay got extended by a week and hence my other roommates asked me if he could pay us a small amount as he is staying longer and facilities such as Electricity and water is being used by him. So I told my friend that he will have pay a small amount, he said how come we are asking him to pay and all, so I told him we will discuss it later in the evening as I was getting late for the office, meanwhile he messaged my other roommate and enquired with him why we want him to pay the share. Now that conversation went little wrong and later he confronted my roommate and had a quarrel with him in abusive language, that he won't give the rent share and said we are cheap kind of people who are asking for rent and left our place after that, later on he posted about this incident in a whatsapp group where all my other friend s are present and they all stared to scold us for asking him for rent share and the conversation here as well went wrong and people stared to abuse each other and I'm being held responsible for everything. Now my question here is:

1. Are we wrong that we are taking rent?

2. Has the person did the right thing by posting about the incident on that whatsapp group and abused us?

3. What could be done in order to neutralize the issue.

Taking a job where one is comfortable

Q: I have a Shaikh who I meet whenever at my masjid. He has been helping me to find a job at the masjid for about a year. Three days  days ago, I met with him, he introduced me to two sisters to see if they are able to help me to do something in the masjid. I was interested to work as an Islamic teacher or as an assistant. However, the sister who I was interacting with mostly wasn't telling me clear-cut if I am hired and gave me paper works that are meant for a person who is hired. On Thursday, I went back to ask if I am hired and if I'm not hired, why they gave me these paper works? The other sister who is the school principal of this particular branch of our masjid was not being straight with me either. She was telling me that every company in America, they will give these paper works that ask for your income tax, bank information, and etc. However, in America, companies can only hand out these papers to employees who are hired for the job. She also told me that masjids are not a good place to find a job. My question is this, should I inform my Sheikh about this issue?

Earnings of a web developer

Q: I am a web developer. I did a job of a website which has some relation with alcohol. I didn't know before I accept the job.

Details: I got a job more than 1 year ago to build a website. That is a "Tour website". I built it's structure, and they filled up their content themselves. After the first contract was done, they contracted me time to time for more small work of structure changing in the same website. Once I noticed that their tour package names are "... place BEER Package", "... place WINE Package" etc. I cannot remember, when exactly I noticed it. But, since I noticed "BEER,WINE", I'm confused about my earning from it.

Today I asked them: "Alcohol (Beer, Wine etc.) is involved with your business. Right?"

They answered: "Yes" "Not really though" "We sell the trip to places, we don't sell alcohol on our tours"

I asked them again: "Isn't your package price included alcohol cost?"

They answered: "" (they didn't answered)

Note1: The total is a big amount. The amount is not easy for me to sacrifice anytime. I need time to earn it. Otherwise I could sacrifice it without any question.

Note2: I follow Hanafi madhab.

Now my questions are:

1. Is it haram for me, what all I earned from that website work?

2. What should I do about the money I earned before I know about the alcohol involvement?

3. What should I do about the money I earned after I know about alcohol involvement?

Pursuing a career in science

Q: I always wanted to acquire the knowledge of Deen and live my life in the service of Deen. Unfortunately, until now, I have not been able to pursue Deeni studies. Currently, I am 23 years old and I don’t think I can pursue full time Deeni studies right now. So I am thinking about pursuing study and research in material science with the aim of serving Islam through this knowledge, and also with the aim of discovering solutions for some of the problems which humanity faces as a whole nowadays like global warming, pollution, lack of clean drinking water, etc.

1. Many Ahaadith mention the virtue of acquiring Deeni knowledge. If I study science, will I also receive this virtue? Will I be rewarded by Allah  for studying science?

2. Should I abandon studying and earning a livelihood and instead spend my life in serving Deen?
