Helping students with their exam papers and homework

Q: We are working on internet from past 4 to 5 weeks. Our clients send us papers to solve when they are in the examination hall then they demand to solve that paper in a given time. This process is done through the phone. After solving questions we send them the answers and then they right it on their paper to pass the exam. They pay us for solving the paper. Is this sort of earning halaal? They also pay us for solving their homework. Is this sort of earning is halaal?

Working for a video company or working as an estate agent

Q: I have been a home executive for 9 years and want to assist with the income of the household. Please advise if it is permissible Islamically to work for: 1) a photography/video company 2) as a real estate agent as I have a qualification which I never used. I am worried about the interest factor. Are we indirectly encouraging interest and loans? Should I rather consider business (selling) or a profession in cupping?

Work in a bank as software engineer

Q: My question is regarding working as a software engineer in a Bank. Many people says that it is haram even to work as a security gaurd as he is helping bank. So any job in a bank is haram. So my question here is, can we open a bank account because I think account holder is the highest responsible person for the growth of the bank, for the bank's existance, for more number of branches and new banks. If it is halal because there is no option, then how can we expect that there should not be a muslim to work in a bank because if no one works then how bank will run and what about that option less muslim. Is ATM withdrawal Halaal? If not, how come ATM machine installer job is haram who is a bank employee. Is Online banking usage like balance statement retrieval , fund transfer is Haram? If yes then how come the software guys who will develop these software applications is haram? I think as per the current market conditions and situations we need to react. So if opening account is allowed the person who will activate the Account should also get allowed. Here no where am mentioning about riba. Riba is strictly prohibited. There is no doubt about it. Opening an account leads to the growth of riba based bank. Some says that muslims should not work in a bank but non muslim brothers can work as they dont have the concept of halal or haram. Meaning if non muslim bank employee share tea with you , it is permissible but if muslim bank employee share tea with you, it is not allowed as the salary he got is haram. Is it like that? Can we work in a bank as Software engineer. We are not taking any riba and am not giving. We are preparing software tools which will be used by bank managers and others. Is it allowed Coming to software work in a bank.... Bank has opened another company for developing the software products of that bank. So working in this entity which is not a bank by itself but its own entity is halal or haram...

Getting paid for an absent day

Q: If I took leave on some working day of job and the HR/admin has mistakenly updated that I was present at that day in online system and the HR has asked me to sign on that day and I also signed forgetfully that I was absent that day in confusion, then only I realized that I have made a mistake. Now, that day's salary will be haraam or halaal for me? I asked HR to change the present as absent but he said it is not possible now. What should I do? Can I work on compensatory working days without any extra pay and make that up?

Car allowance

Q: I am working in a company as an engineer and as per my designation car is allowed for my traveling but my company does not have a car infact they pay me money to hire a rent car for my visit. My question is that if I don't use a rent car and claim rent car bill, will it be halaal or haram. For example, I have to travel from city A to B. I travel it through train which is cheaper but to the company I claim rent for car because as per my designation car is allowed to me for my ease. But I want to save some money so I rather use some cheap transport method and claim rent for car. Kindly also note the this is the environment of my company. All my colleagues do this and if I don't do this, they will whisper against me to the higher management and I have a chance to lose job. Even if I travel by train or some other transport and want to tell this to my company then my colleagues will become angry with me and will speak against me. So kindly answer me keeping in mind my both scenarios. One is that as per my designation, car is allowed to me for my ease and second, the environment of my office.
