Pictures of animate objects

Q: We have always been taught not to wear moorat/clothing with eyes and animate objects on them. We have been told recently that if an object like a cartoon character even if it be a car has eyes drawn/painted on it, is then not considered as moorat. This is because a car is not an animate object. Is this correct?

Keeping pictures of animate objects

Q: My question is that is it a major sin or a minor sin to keep pictures of animate objects in the house? I know that it must be avoided, but I was having a discussion with my family about this, and now I am very curious as to whether this comes in category of major sins or minor sins? (These photos were taken by someone else, I am asking about keeping them in the house).

Making dolls

Q: Is it permissable to make dolls as a hobby? If one has already made them, created them, is it permissable to then sell them? Will the money made from selling them be halaal?

Photo without the head

Q: I would like to know regarding the extent of a photo, e.g. if a photo does not have a persons face but the rest of the body , is this permissible. What about just e.g. an arm. Some people claim this is fine without the eyes, but I feel this can lead to many fitan just like normal photos.

Providing my employers with a picture of myself for an organogram

Q: The company I work for have requested that I provide them with a picture of myself which they want to use for an organogram. "An Organogram is a diagram that shows the structure of an organization and the relationships and relative ranks of its parts and positions/jobs." Is it permissible for me to take a photo for this purpose?

CCTV for security purposes

Q: What will the ruling be regarding the use of cctv camera if it is used for security purposes? Won't it be regarded as a need just as the  taking of passport photos is allowed for a need though related to a worldly reason like a business trip?

CCTV's

Q: The process adopted in live video streaming is no different to any other conventional picture. The only difference is that it is being captured and reproduced in such quick succession through modern day technology that one feels that one is watching it as it's happening, whereas this is not the case..... This was part or your response to a question. The thought just passed through my head what about cctv cameras? In the office, shop and home? Is it jaiz to have it?
