Making a condition that husband cannot take a second wife while married to the first wife

Q: I once asked my ustaaz whether it is okay for a woman to state in the nikaah contract that while she is married to the man he cannot get another wife. I was told that it is incorrect to do such a thing because it is permissible to have more than one wife and you are not allowed to make it impermissible upon him. Basically you can't make haraam upon him that which is halaal. Could this please be clarified.

Doubts on hurmat-e-musaaharah

Q: I usually get thoughts on hurmate mushahara, like when I shake my dads hand, I am scared and worried. I don't have lust but I get thoughts that suppose it is lust. My father in law is old, about 60 something and Aalim. Now he was lying down in the room and I was in the other room. It was open so I could see who was sleeping. Now I get these thoughts about lust. So my father in law was sleeping and I went to pray namaz. I was just looking at his private parts, it was not open, he had on kafni n izhaar so I couldnt see his private part and the room was kinda dark and I was a distance away. Now I didn't have any desire but I just get these thoughts about lust. I was just looking at the private part area but father in law had on his pants. So after I saw something like a penis, I was thinking that his private part was out when he was sleeping or was it a material. I saw not sure but my heart was thinking that it was not his penis showing. I just get these thoughts and I don't want them. I have no lust feeling for my father in law and I didn't look with lust. I just looked because I wanted to see if I get these thoughts. Is my nikaah valid or will hurmate mushahara apply?

Registering a child on the mother's name

Q: I am a second wife currently pregnant and my husband and his parents are emotionally and verbally abusing me. His first marriage is in community of property leaving all of his assets to his first wife while mine was just a nikaah and he has only provided a house for me. He has always falsely accused me of being unfaithful when I gave him no reason to believe so. He says that the child I'm carrying is not his. I am very hurt and I have left my home and don't want to go back to him. Can I register my child using my surname because of the situation that I'm in? He has also told me that he will be selling my house. He left nothing for me and our unborn child while his first family lives a cosy lavish life. Please advise me.

Performing nikaah in a different language

Q: I had a few questions regarding nikaah:

1. What is the correct procedure for nikaah? What does it involve and how is it done?

2. If the bride's father is alive but does not wish to attend the nikaah, can the bride's brother be her wali? Is the nikaah valid without the presence of the father?

3. Does it matter which language the nikaah is performed - for example, if the bride or groom or witnesses do not understand what is said by whoever is performing the nikaah, is the nikaah valid? Also, does ijaab and qabool have to be said in Arabic?

Determining compatibility between spouses by matching their names and dates of birth

Q: I'm a 22 year old female and I have a friend who believes in hisaab. He wants to get married but he went to the imam to ask him whether he is compatible with the girl. So the imam asked for her name and date of birth to determine compatibility and whether she would be a good wife; how she will be with him and his family. He also predicted that my friend would most likely remain unmarried because he won't find anyone compatible to him. And my friend doesn't know how he used names and date of birth to determine compatibility because the imam went into a different room.

I told my friend that this is haraam in our religion because only Allah knows our future and this is no different than going to a fortune teller or believing in astrology and horoscopes and it's clearly mentioned in Islam that this is haraam because it's associating with Allah, but he doesn't believe me. I'm very worried for him and I would like to know from a knowledgeable person if this is allowed in Islam.
