Boys Names

Keeping the names of the Ambiya, Sahaaba or the pious of the past

Q: I am waiting for my baby to come. I am in search of a name for the baby. I got a baby girl name manha meaning gift of Allah. For a baby boy I found the name Ayaan. The name Ayaan means gods gift in some sites and has the meaning long night, luck etc in other sites.  Some sites say it's forbidden to name Ayaan for a Muslim because Ayaan in some other language means god of creation etc which contradicts Muslim belief. I selected this name because it has the meaning gods gift which is gift from Allah. Can I name my baby this name and I want to know the exact meaning of the name and does it mean the gift of god?

Keeping the name Abdullah

Q: I had a quick question on rules of naming a child. I want to name my new born son Aadam Al-Abdullah Ibn Ibrahim Ali. Is this name valid and not against Islamic teaching? Some people say Al- is a problem as it specifies. From my understanding Al-Abdullah means the servant of Allah? Please advise?
