Q: Why is the Azan and iqama given when a baby is born?

Q: In my area, the nearest masjid is about 10kms. There is also a musalla nearby but azaan from the masjid or the musalla is not heard. However, for several reasons, I have to perform salaat on my own at home and, in the circumstances, is it imperative to give azaan and recite iqaamat before salaat? Does this also apply if one is also performing missed salaats?

Q: A person mistakenly gave azaan in the left ear of the child and iqaamah in the right ear. He has only realized his mistake now, after five years have passed. What should be done in this situation.

Q: Is it permissible that Azaan be given by one person and iqaamah by another person?

Q: Kindly tell me what is the difference between Azaan and Iqaamah? Kindly consider this Hadith "The people mentioned the fire and the bell (they suggested those as signals to indicate the starting of prayers), and by that they mentioned the Jews and the Christians. Then Bilaal was ordered to pronounce Adhan for the prayer by saying its wordings twice, and for the Iqama (the call for the actual standing for the prayers in rows) by saying its wordings once. (Iqama is pronounced when the people are ready for the prayer). Sahi Bukhari Volume 1, Book 11, Number 577 in Azaan we saying words twice but in iqamah we saying words once as mentioned in above hadees. Kindly now tell me your answer as per Quran and Hadees.

Q: On which side of the Imaam should the Mu'azzin call out the Iqaamah? Should he stand on the right side or on the left side of the Imaam?
