Q: I'm a government empoloyee and I get a salary per month. In our country there is a common trend of people who come to government offices for their needs to give some extra amount to employees working in various departments even if it is not compulsary to give that amount because they are afraid that work will not be done on time.

1. Can I take that amount if somebody is giving me in a similar fashion because of the trend? I never forced them to give that amount.

2. Can I take an extra amount if my officer gives to me but he received it from other people? (Officer takes amount somewhat forcefully from people)

1. A father gave a fixed amount of money to his wife and told her that this money is for their children (mature and immature children). He also told the children that he gave their mother a fixed amount of money which is theirs. In the above-mentioned situation, will the money belong to the children or will it still belong to the father?

2. Can the father take the money back without asking the children?

3. What is the correct procedure of giving money to the children? Should the money be given to the wife to keep on their behalf?

Q: My mom circles money around my head and sometimes even eggs for some kind of protection. I have a feeling this practice is not Islamic so I was wondering if it it permissible in Islam.

Q: I took a second wife while I was still married to my first wife because my first wife had an issue called vaginism as she cant have sexual intercourse. After 2 months my 2nd wife started to behave wiered as she seems to be going through some psycological issue in her life. She tried to commit suicide more than 5 times while she was with me. Now she is asking for 5 million for me to give her divorce. I dont have that much of money to give her. I was paying almost 3 year close to 1000 usd every month just for her and the son she got from her ex husbond. She was kicked out from her parents home. Now she is troubling me asking me for this large sum of money for divorce. Am I allowed to take money as a loan from the bank to pay her and release her from my life to live a peaceful life

Q: I have taken/borrowed some money from a shop as I do not have enough money. I told the shopkeeper that I will give you the remaining amount next time I come, so he agreed and he further reminded me to pay otherwise on dooms day Allah will ask me about it. I didn't give him the remaining amount but now few months later I visited his shop to pay the remaining amount but the shop has been closed. When I asked about him from some of his neighbour's shops, they told me that he has closed his shop from here. I want to pay him his remaining amount. Can you guide me what I have to do?

Q: I work in a shop. One customer mistakenly gave me more money than usual. I didn't return his money. I spent that money. Now I'm feeling guilty about that. What should I do? Please help me...

Q: I'd like to know how to calculate zakaat. I am 25 years old and have never paid it as I don't know how to calculate it. I do tutoring for 2 children, I have some shares, I have some money in my bank account and I have money in a money box but I don't know how much money I have in that money box. I also have some gold jewellery of which I wear some of it but not all and I don't know the value of it.

Is it true that you have to also pay zakat on clothing that you have not used in over a year? Please assist. 

Q: I regret to inform you that my younger brother is a drug addict from many years. His wife has also left him because of this. He has a 14 year old daughter and my mother is taking care of him. We have tried many times to treat him for drug addiction but he again starts taking drugs. He says that he cannot even move without drugs. My mother is suffering very much seeing his condition. She cannot see him dying in front of her eyes. She has to give him money for drugs and she feels that we should also give him money for drugs otherwise he would die. My question is, can I give him money for drugs or is it a sin? Please answer me as I am in a dilemma.
