Hiring a non-Muslim artisan instead of a Muslim

Q: There are two artisans I can deal with, one non-Muslim and another Muslim, the non-Muslim goes out of his way to give us excellent service, with good prices etc. the Muslim unfortunately does not offer excellent service we have chosen the non-Muslim but the thought crosses our mind that is it the correct thing to do. I mean ignoring Muslims and giving business to non-Muslims rather. I also give Dawat to him sometimes on the phone or maybe with paying on time etc. What is the respected Mufti Sahebs advice in this regard?

Burying a non-muslim

Q:

1. If a non-muslim passes away and he does not have any relative to bury him besides one Muslim relative, will it be permissible for the Muslim relative to bury the non-muslim deceased? Further, if the Muslim relative does not have wealth to pay for the burial, can one assist him by giving him some wealth to fulfill this need?

2. After a non-muslim is buried, generally the family of the non-muslim feed those who attended the burial. During this meal, alcohol is served. Will it be permissible for the Muslim relative to honor this custom by hosting it or contributing to it in any way? Similarly, if it is permissible for other Muslims to assist the Muslim relative financially, can the money that they give him be used for this meal?

Accepting a box of sweets from a non-Muslim

Q: I am in great trouble. My aunt has brought a box of sweets which some non Muslim has given us on the occasion of Diwali (non-Muslim festival). I did no know about it. So I have taken sweets from it and when I took one sweet from it my mind struck that this might have came on the occasion of Diwali and when I asked her, she told me yes this is on the occasion of Diwali. So I got confused how to get rid of it so I made a plan that I will take one bite of it to show other family members that I have eaten it and after spitting all the sweets which I had taken I felt that very little part of it went inside my throat which I was not able to remove. So my question is have I done kufr or shirk. Believe me, I didn't want to eat that sweet but since I have taken that sweet so I was afraid that if I reject this sweet in front of other family members, they start pinching me. I love Allah very much and also want to be free from shirk, bidat and haram things.
