Q: I am an expat in Saudi Arabia. One of my friends passed away here last December and his family had to move back to India. They sold most of the major items and got money and the remaining smaller items they gifted to others (Example: dinner plates, a wall clock, 3 unanimated wall hanging sceneries, etc. they gifted us and few items to others also).
Is it Ok to keep and use those items or must they be donated in charity? We are not need in need of those items and we just kept those items because we were very close to that family. What is the better option?

Also, she leaves my card in her pocket and now my brother spent nearly £600 without me knowing.

Q: I have wealth more than nisaab (R50 000) that makes zakaat compulsory upon myself. I took a loan from a relative (R1.2m) to purchase a house. I will be repaying him over monthly installments (R10 000) over the next 10 years. Hence, in essence, my debt is more than my assets.
1. How do I calculate my zakaat?
2. Does this make me a recipient of zakaat?
Q: If a person has long socks due to extreme cold weather conditions and then he tucks his pants inside them in such a way that they cover the ankles, will this be permissible?
This is seen to be done by some people as it somehow brings a sense of comfort in extremes cold conditions. Outwardly, the trouser will not be seen to be below the ankle, however it is below, but covered by the warm socks that he wears.
