Q: I plan to teach online using platforms such as Blabelia and Blabmate. I need the Shar'ee instructions for the following:
1) Uploading a photo? Should I or should I not? Though its a requirement, yet I feel hesitant to upload my photo.
2) Teaching online- might involve - males and females as there is not control over it. So what should I do or write on my profile that is not discriminatory as I want to teach males only?
3) If in case, I end up finding females in my online classes, what should I do? Should I teach them? How? Apart from that are there any sharia rules that apply?
A:
1. You should not.
2. Write that the course has been prepared for males only.
3. No.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: I have been interviewed by a company - International Bibo - based in Philippines that wants me to teach Japanese students English online.
1) Firstly the interviewer was a lady and I didn't know that. So, during the interview- video call, I opened an icon box and put it over the photograph so that I don't see her face or image.
2) After the interview, I told her I can't teach females. She said, that I can't select my students. Students select teachers. For that, I have been told to put my profile photo on their website. So, if a student looks at me - male or female- they can select me and then I would have to teach her else no.
I thought to myself since I am mashaAllah a person with a beard and a topi, girls or ladies don't like such people anyway. But, I am still taking a fatwa on this stance- that by uploading my photo I am in a way repelling them away, so will it be ok to upload my photo - and also without that my job is cancelled? Kindly, please advise.
A: As far as possible abstain from this.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
