Q: I would like to know is it kufar if one talks bad about the Ulama? The molanas in this town are having a braai at my husbands place so he made a comment like "the molanas are going to finish me up on Saturday because they don't bring anything and come and I must bring everything." I don't know if he said that or if he said "the molanas are pains they going to finish me up on Saturday because they don't bring anything and come and I must bring everything." I don't know if he used the word "pains" or not or if it is waswasaa from my part. Im 100% sure of the rest of the statement besides the word "pains". I told him not to say such things. But I do know that talking bad about the ulama can be detrimental to one's Deen.
A: Discourage him from talking like this. Don't pay attention to this. This will not amount to disbelief. However, it could amount to gheebat and backbiting.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

Q: Anyway mufti he had the braai, his father asked him to host the braai this weekend and his father was out of town. When he came back from the braai he and said people arr too face, and he cant belive people and his happy he stays away etc, I just ignored him and said don't speak like this. Then this morning I went to work with him at his shop. There is an india guy who works with him who also doesn't like the jamaat in this area for his own reasons. So my husband recived an email from the jamaat stating thanks forthe braai, and than my husband goes to that India guy and makes jokes saying your friends emailed me, your friends sent me a message etc. Now is this detrimental to ones deen? I told him not to speak about the jamaat like that but he doesnt listen. What else can I do? I am also very stressed as what if Allah sends his azaab upon him for saying such things and I am his wife so it will also affect me?
A: Don't tell him anything now. Start off ta`leem and zikr in the house regularly. May Allah Ta`ala fill your house with barkat and ease.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
