Practising upon the Qur'an and the Sunnah

Q: Is there any sin in practicing on the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)? Some Ulamas/Moulana's make it seem as such!!"... This was an objection possed by a friend, can Mufti Saheb kindly explain to me if this is correct.

A:  We are commanded in Shari'ah to practise upon the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Since every person doesn't have the ability to directly source Shar'iee laws and injunctions from the Qur'an and the Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), we are advised to practise upon the Qur'an and Ahaadith under the guidance of qualified Ulama'.

As far as those verses of the Qur'an and  Ahaadith which relate to incidents and events of the past, advice, etc. are concerned, since its understanding is not subject to studying preliminary sciences and Shar'iee principles (and people generally through referring to translations are able to understand its meaning and purport) one can refer directly to these verses and Ahaadith and benefit from it.
