Using a stove in hotels that do not permit the usage of appliances in hotel rooms

Q: It is a general rule in most present day hotels that visitors booked in are not allowed to use a stove or any such appliance in the bag which may be a cause of a fire. Despite the above condition, a person still uses the appliance without it being detected by the hotel, will this be incorrect and be regarded as khiyaanat (deception)?

A: It is in the best interest of one's own welfare and the welfare of others that one adheres to the conditions of the hotel. However, if one had used any appliance without damaging the hotel property, then since the hotel had allowed one the use of the electricity for other purposes (charging the cell phone or boiling the kettle etc) one will not be sinful for using the appliance.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
