Reciting a surah as mahr

Q: Hanafis can only give wealth as mahr whereas Shaafi'ees can recite a surah, etc. Does this only work if both boy and girl are Shaafi'ee or if one is Shaafi'ee and the other Hanafi?

A: Both have to be Shaafi`ee.
