Eating fruit from a tree from a rented house

Q: A non-Muslim friend is renting a home. He gave me some avocados from a tree in his yard, am I allowed to eat it them?

A: If his landlord allows him to eat from the fruit of the tree, then you can accept it from your neighbour.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
