Wife following her mazhab after getting married to a Salafi

Q: We follow the Hanafi school of thought. However, my daughter married and her husband is now saying that he is a Salafi. We have never heard about this before. They join salaahs when they travel, make tayamum if there is no water whilst they on the go. Also, they read salaah while in a moving vehicle and if they feel its dangerous to stop the car. She is young and scared. Can you please help me with advice.

A: If she is a Hanafi, then advise her to adhere to the Hanafi mazhab. If she performs salaah in this manner by joining salaahs, then she should make qadha of the salaah that was not performed in its time. She should not argue with her husband or try to debate with him on these issues as she is not qualified in deen and does not have sufficient knowledge to be able to explain to him. It is advisable that she commences with the taleem of Fazaail Aamaal and Fazaail Sadaqaat in her home with her family. Perhaps this will be a means of her family understanding deen and following deen correctly.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
