Keeping a cat in the musjid building

Q: What is the ruling in keeping a cat in the Masjid building and it living there? But it won't be kept in the actual Masjid?

A: Animals should not be kept in the musjid or around the musjid as there is fear that they will soil the area of the musjid.

And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
