Q: Is it permissible for a woman to ask for a continuous payment for mahr?
For example, asking for 1000 in currency after a year of marriage.
A: Mahr is not a continuous payment, but rather it is a mutually fixed and agreed upon amount at the beginning of the nikaah, and the husband is obligated to pay the mahr amount in full to the wife. Once the husband has paid the mahr amount in full, then the wife does not have the right to claim any extra mahr.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
