Q: Is it permissible for a person to get a child grant from the government for each of his children. This person is not poor, rather he has an average income.
The reason why he's doubting this is that the child grant is for children whose parents are earning less than R4000. However, he is earning more than that.
A: If he feels that he is in need of the assistance, it is not haraam for him to ask. He should use the money for the children's needs.
And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
