Taking leave from work

Q: Our office says that we have 22 paid leaves in a year, and we can utilize them in any case of emergency. But if there are no emergencies then you cannot take a leave, and after a year if there are some leaves left they will be wasted, because we didnt utilized them.

At the end of the year if we did not fall sick or needed any emergency then our leaves are wasted. My problem is that I spend 9 hours in the office and remaining few hours in home, do the normal stuff like prayer, eating, house things, so I have very less time for Quran studies and Arabic studies. I have started it but the progress is slow and I want to do more but time is not there.

So now I cant take leave saying that I want to learn Quran or Arabic, I will have to fall sick or any emergency, or else it will be a lie, but I know each minute is important, I want to use this time in a good way, Allah is my top priority not the job, so how can I use those 22 leaves for a better purpose, compared to doing stuff at office.

Can I lie to my boss that I am sick and then I study and learn Islam all day, is that right?

Obtaining a pharmacy license through speaking lies

Q: I am working as a pharmacist in Abudhabi UAE. To work as a pharmacist we have to pass UAE exam. Either HAAD for Abudhabi or DHA for dubai or MOH for sharjah. To write the exam we have to provide 2 year pharmacy experience certificate from any country. Most of the people they will make a fake pharmacy experience certificate and write the exam. We have to prepare a lot for the exam. Once we pass the exam, we have to search job in uae. Once we get a job we will get the pharmacy license to work in uae. My question is in India I worked as med representative and I applied for uae exam. They told they need pharmacy experience only. I got experience letter from my friend pharmacy and wrote the exam and passed the exam. It is online. but I didnt work in pharmacy. After passing I got the job in hospital. In interview I told them I work in pharmacy in India. Now I have a HAAD license and I am working in big hospital in Abu Dhabi. My question is my earning will be haraam or what kind of job I should do. Or with the current 2 year of Abu Dhabi experience can I write dubai or sharjah exam. To write any exam we have to provide 2 year minimum pharmacy experience. To practice in uae. I don't want to work as med representative because we have to lie a lot.

Saving oneself from harm

Q: I am a student. Alhamdulillah I have whatever Allah has given me. In my hostel life, people from different rooms and floors comes to me asking for things? I reply with the truth, by saying I have that. Then they ask me to use it. Since I cannot say no, I lend them, but they never return it back to me. As I am a student I have a particular amount of money from my parents to spend for requirements. Now I have decided to tell them I don't have it (here my intention is that I don't have anything to give you, not that I don't have that thing), can I tell them like that? Else what can I do?

Girl forced to marry second man while married to first man

Q: I am in a very difficult situation, please reply to my query. I used to like a boy who was very pious and prayed and used to fast, give charity, help others and pray tahajjud as well. We liked each other and many a times he helped me raise in my iman. He brought the proposal to my parents but my parents refused based solely on the cast system; him being pathan and me being syed. He was earning but not much, but enough for 2 of us. I still liked him and we tried our best to please my parents and seek their approval but all in vain. My parents used to beat me alot till my face used to swell. My brother used to physically molest me. This went on for one and half year. So one day when I feared for my life we went ahead and did nikah as per hanafi fiqh. We had the qazi, and a muslim man (sane adult) at the nikah ceremony. We read our nikah and qazi and another muslim man heard offer and acceptance of the nikah. we declared the nikah infront of our family and friends. Marriage was consummated. Then my parents forcefully brought me back home by making false promises and then they started beating me and strangled me and threatened me to forget the boy or else they will kill both of us. Then after sometime they married me off by pressuring me, to another man who is also a good man but he doesn’t know anything about my past. My family threatened me not to tell. Now few years have passed and I am living with this other man. If I leave, my parents will again beat me and harm me. And emotionally blackmail me that they will lose their reputation if I leave second man. My first husband has never given me talaq nor have I asked for khula. Please help me what should I do? I have kids also with second man what is the status of both marriges? I have always wondered what will Allah will do with me but I still believe what he does is for good. My parents separated me from first man on bases of many lies like my nikah was not valid. Please help me what should I do islamically?

Lying in a job interview

Q: My question is regarding lying on a telephone interview for a university application. I had a telephone interview for computing course. I initially applied for a different course for which I got accepted with an unconditional offer. When I decided to change I had a telephone interview and the Head of department asked me as to why I didn't retake my GCSE Maths Exam as i had a D. I don't know how was it impulsive or due to nervousness I said that I was working full time. So he said ok and asked about my other qualification which is the main one BTEC I.T. He was satisfied and gave me an unconditional offer. So the lie is that I actually have retook my GCSE Exam and Got the same Result. I was certain that I had put it on my original application but it seems I didn't. To my shock I said the lie. I was actually working though pretty much full time. On Registration the Uni only took my BTEC cert. Am I sinful? Will my earnings be Halaal?

Speaking lies and deception
