Q: A close relative passed away about six weeks ago. He was buried in a grave allocated by the burial service and administrators of the grave yard. I was recently approached by a friend and was told that it was a private grave which was paid for by their family and I was asked if it was possible to move the marhooms body to another grave. I find this very difficult. Please advise urgently.

2. Where must the janaza be placed e.g. floor or can it be placed on the bed?
3. If the person has no muslim family can the janaza be taken to his or her non muslim family home?

1. What is the shar’ee ruling in the situation where a foreigner passes away and his family from his home country makes a request for his body to be sent to them. In this case it is a legal requirement for a chemical to be injected into the veins of the deceased to keep the body from decomposing. Is this allowed in Shariah since it is a legal requirement?

If a foreigner passes away and his family from his home country makes a request for his body to be sent to them, then before sending the body overseas, do we have to carry out the ghusal, kaffan and perform the janaazah salaah? Once the family receives the body, will they have to repeat the ghusal and janaazah salaah?
Q: A few minutes before the scheduled time of Janazah Salaah at the cemetery, the face of the deceased male is opened. A line is formed and people file past to see the face one last time. Is this permissible or not?

2. Is it best for it to be flat with no heap of sand rising?
3. Should a grave be unmarked with no plank or name-plate or is it better to have it to help identify where a person is buried?
4. Can flowers etc be planted on a grave?
5. Is there reward in spending money on maintaining a cemetery including removing weeds from the graves?
