Zakaat

Q: If one is not certain of the day that he turned baaligh and years have passed. He paid zakaat for some years but does not know exactly how many years he missed. What should he do?

Q: Can one give money with the intention of zakaat for the upcoming years due to urgent needs of our relatives. Moreover, we will deduct the same by next year with the available amount.

Q: I have given a loan to my cousin and he promised to pay me back in two months time. His financial condition is not good and he will pay late. Can I adjust it through my Zakaat money, by asking him not to pay back?

Q: A fundraiser for a pipeline in gaza was held. People donated different things. After the fund raiser a few paper cups etc. remained. Can this be used towards another Deeni project or given to the poor locally.

Q: If a person has a huge loan that he has to pay monthly, does zakaat become obligatory on the gold jewellery that is under his possession.

Q: Does Zakaat need to be given by the wife or the Husband for gold jewellery?

Q: Can my husband give towards my family (his in laws) his zakaat?

Q: My sickly parents are elderly and my father’s salary does not cover household expenses. My sister requires aid in her studies. She is a full time student and can zakaat money be given to her for her studies and do I have to tell her that it is Zakaat?

1) When I gave my zakaat, I gave it with the intention of zakaat and of a worldly benefit e.g. increase in wealth. If my intention was not to please Allah or to attain anything in the hereafter, will it be valid?

Q: Please advise if Zakaah is payable on a Provident Fund.
