Matrimonial sites

Q: I want to ask whether registering on matrimonial sites allowed in Islam or not? I am looking for a girl to get married to so is it ok if I look for girls on these matrimonial websites. Please guide.

Living in Zina

Q: My sister is living unmarried with her non muslim boyfriend. Yesterday, she gave birth to his son. They named their Son Job. Now people start to congratulate me because of this. Saying Mubarak and so on.  I don't like to be congratulated by this occurring. Actually, I don't want to have anything to do with this. How should I react according to our Islamic adab? Furthermore, Should my parents do the aqiqa for this grandchild? Because my sister is not intending to do so. And is it legitimate for them, to give him an Islamic name?

Getting married as soon as a suitable match is found

Q: I am a 26 year old man. I am working, Alhamdulillah, in a reputed company for the past two years. My marriage was fixed to a girl a year ago. And I have collected the amount of Mahar, to be gifted to girl. And I also have enough money to buy the household goods. I didn’t want to take money from my father for those things, so I have collected the amount myself. The girl was selected after a great effort by me to convince my father to get me married, (he wanted my sister to marry first, who is 9 years younger than me, but later agreed to allow me to get married). After the girl was selected my father told that the marriage would take place only after present house is extended to a bigger size and constructed. I work in a different city far away from my home town. I told him that it’s not required to construct the house right now as I do not stay in the city and there is one empty room for me to stay whenever I come home. He told me that he was planning for the future so as to accommodate all my five siblings after their respective marriages. I kept quiet and later the house construction got delayed and started six months later. Now the house is almost complete, so I am telling him to fix the date for the wedding. He is still not agreeing. He is telling to wait for more six more months or a year. What should I do now? He is very casual on the issue of my marriage. What I am think is that, there can be no more money (may be due to construction of the house) to spend for day of walimah, which includes spending on food, booking function hall, etc. The girl’s father is a pious man. He would be ready to do a marriage as per Sharia, with least spending, but my father might not be ready, as I am the eldest son. How do I explain to my father as he is ready to listen to me on the issue of my marriage (but at the same time he keen in listening to me about my career and my job)? Please help.

Non-Muslim changing his name

Q: My friend has recently reverted to Islam and the question has been asked if he has to change his name or he can keep his name?

Also, he is soon to be married, Insha Allah, to a Muslim girl... if it is permissible to keep his name, does it impact the performance of the nikkah in any way?... Can the nikkah continue as normal with just his non-Arabic name?

Honouring one's promise

Q: My husband sometimes gets very moody and talks rudely to me. This is getting out of hand so we spoke about it and he agreed to stop. My husband is very weak and we both know that when he is moody he can't control himself and he will speak rudely to me. We both agreed verbally that if he speaks rudely to me I won't have any physical relations with him for 3 days. Mufti if within those 3 days if he asks me to have a relation with him and I refuse am I sinful?

Rights and obligations

Q: Is it permitted for a wife to keep in contact with her brother without her husband knowing by texting him daily and sometimes calling and neglecting the husband's rights? What is the ruling with wife keeping in contact with her family members, including her siblings and cousins? If husband feels like this is too much and the wife should be more interested in seeking ilm then can the husband not allow the wife to keep in contact with the husband until she fulfils the husband's rights? Please let me know what course of action I should take in order to resolve the issue because I tried explaining her husband comes first before her family members.

Cancelling a marriage proposal

Q: This is my friends problem:

I am engaged to a girl. Last week I saw her with her uncle (aunts husband) involved in sex and I also found that she has an affair with 2 other people. My family and the girls family don't know about her illegal relations. Right now I am still engaged to her. Tell me what to do? I can not break the engagement because her family is very powerful. They have money and position. I cannot tell this to anyone because it is difficult for anyone to believe. I don't have proof except that I saw them with my own eyes. Please guide me what to do. Should I marry her or tell me any dua or wazifa which will help me to expose there sin in front of every one. I can't refuse this marriage or run way.
