Q: I was given three talaqs through whattsapp whilst I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage on the first day of the forth month (exactly 16th week), how long is my iddat? Is the bleeding after the miscarriage nifaas or haidh?
Q: Should a widow's iddat period be calculated by the Islamic months or the western calendar months (ie. August, September, etc.)?
Q: If a woman's husband has pasted away, is her father-in-law her mahram? The wife stays with her in-laws mother/father in-law, brother in-law/wife. Can she make her iddat in her current home, or should she stay with her mother and do her iddat. (The distance between her home and her mothers is 300km) or should her mother stay with her at her in-laws?
Q: What will be the "iddat" of a woman if her husband passes away and she has a 6 day old baby? It is in my knowledge that if the woman is pregnant then till delivery she is in iddat and in normal cases it would be 4 months and 10 days. But my question is this that just 6 days before the death of the husband she delivered. So is there no iddah and she will be "paak or tahira" in 40 days. Or she will complete 4 months?
Q: My aunt is in iddat. She lives in a block of flats. Her daughter lives a few doors away. Can she visit her daughter and can she speak to the ladies in the corridor?
Q: A women that was given one talaaq-e-bain, can she communicate with her ex husband during her iddat. She has one child from him and can he go to her house to leave food? She wears the niqaab in his presence. He wants her to reconcile and is trying his best to make up as she is very confused in her decision.
Q: When in iddah, when you have been given a talaaq, is it also compulsory to wear pardah?
Q: May Allah reward you for the good work you provide for our ummah. My question is if a wifes husband passes away does she have to complete her iddat on the excuse of saving her job? The husband has left an amount of R130 000 in the bank account. Wife has about R100 000 in her account. Wifes father Alhamdulilah is quite wealthy and he only has two daughters. All in the family are working and earning. Its a government job. Sshe has the fear that if she stays on for her husbands iddat there "might" be a risk of losing her job. We do know that south africa is a freedom of religion country. We do know that if she does not go to work, there will be enough to take care of her needs in the four months of iddat. If she stays in after looking at all this is she still allowed to leave her iddat for her job?
Q: We would like to know when my aunts iddat will end. My uncle passed away on the 20th of Rajab 1435/ 20 May 2014.
