Hadith

Wearing a turban

Q: In the Ahaadith what are the virtues mentioned with regards to wearing a turban? Was it a perpetual Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam)? Will a person get seventy times more reward if he performs salaah with a turban?

Who does Amir and Ulul Amr refer to

Q: I would like to know who does amir and ulul amr refer to in Quran and Ahaadith? Does it refer to amirul mumineen? If yes, then in our time upon whom will the title amir fit? Or can it refer to the principal of a madrasah, the teacher of a class, the sheikh of a khanqah, the leader of a tabligh jamaat, the leader of a jihad campaign etc.?

Reciting منها خلقناكم when throwing sand in the grave

Q: Is there any authentic hadith from the books of hadith about: When throwing the first handful one should say, "Of this (i.e. the earth) We created you," and on the second one should say, "And to it shall We cause you to return," and on the third handful one should say, "And of it We shall cause you to be resurrected a second time. Please give me the references.

"There is no better man than Ali, and no sword better than Dhul-Faqaar"

Q: I need to know the status of this oft-quoted hadeeth: " There is no better man than `Ali, and no sword better than Dhul-Faqar"

“An angel called Radwan announced from the Heavens in (the Battle of) Badr ‘No sword other than Dhu Al-Faqar and no man better than `Ali.’”

Please provide references from traditional scholars in order to convince lay people.

Hadith regarding the temporary suspension of wahi

Q: I was told that it was stated in a certain shaykhs bayaan that during the period when wahi was stopped, Nabi (Sallalahu Alayhi Wasallam) became despondent and wanted to commit suicide. According to my (ignorant) knowledge, I can never associate the mubarak countenance of Nabi (Sallalahu Alayhi Wasallam) with that of someone wanting to take his own life. Please clarify as the possibility of me being incorrect is very likely.

The appearance of Dajjaal and shortage of food

Q: I have a question regarding the appearance of the dajjal and shortage of food. In one report it says before his arrival, there will be shortage of food and drinks for 3 years (musnad ahmed).

However, in another hadith it says under the Mahdi, there shall be abundance of food to such an extent a man will say "mahdi, give me" and he shall reply "take it".

Now my confusion is that the dajjal is to emerge during the mahdi's time, so how to reconcile the two situations?
