Permissible and Impermissible employment

Q: If a person has a bakery and a customer orders a birthday cake, will it be permissible for the bakery to make it and sell it?

Q: I work for an engineering company that sometimes asks us to visit chemical plants. On some of the plants, it is a requirement for the workers to have no facial hair so that one can use a gas mask in case of a gas release. What should we do in this situation? You should keep in mind that there are many Muslims who work in these types of environments and could not find an alternate job because of the profession they have chosen. Some of the companies include Aramco, Qatar Petroleum, Ras Gas, etc. that are owned by Muslims countries.

Q: Some people say that to take Ujrah for teaching Qur'aan/Deen is not permissible according to Imaam Abu Hanifah (RA) and Nabi (SAW) prohibited it very sternly yet the Hanafi Ulama take Ujrah for teaching, is that not that they are eating Haraam and following their desires, will Allah's curse come upon them as the Yahud? Please clarify with proofs as this has become a serious issue amongst friends and family.

1. Is it permissible for taking Ujrah for teaching Qur'aan/Deen according to the Ahnaaf?
2. If they have been taking Ujrah for teaching Qur'aan/Deen, is their sustenance Halaal?
3. Is it permissible to eat at their homes?

Q: Is it permissible for a Muslim male to practice as a gynaecologist, and is it permissible for a Muslim female to visit a male gynaecologist for her monthly check-ups and delivery of the baby?

Q: I work in a company that deals with architecture, construction, design of buildings, etc.

1. If the client who is not a Muslim, asks one to include a room for prayers in the plan, is it permissible?

2. Is a contract for a haraam business e.g. a night club, bar, etc. permissible?

3. If one is aware that the person is going to do haraam in the building, is it still permissible?

Q: I just want some advice regarding my predicament and also to request your Duas that Allah takes me out of this situation. I have been working in the banking/financial services industry for the last 11 years and at first did not realise that it was wrong but, in the last 6 years or so have been trying very hard to get out but to no avail. I have applied for many hundreds of jobs and I always make Taubah. I used to contribute in Allah's course but now I am scared to. I want to go for Umrah and Hajj but am worried that I will be sinning by doing so. I try to spend on my family within my capacity but always end up feeling depressed as I know where the money is coming from. What can I do to improve my chances of getting a better source of income?

Q: I am a graphic designer by profession. Sometimes, I am hired to design cartoons and animations of people, animals, etc. Can I accept these jobs?
