Q: What is the Shar'ee  law about images and videos on computer and mobile i.e. in soft format?

Q: Is it permissible to take a photo of a person who holds a screen in front of his face, since the face will not be visible? Also, is it permissible to take a picture of a woman in niqaab since her face will not be visible?

Q: I live in Pakistan. In Pakistan we can only find CD's of games and movies which are pirated approximatly 1 dollar 100 Rs. I like to play games but buying the original game costs more money than my budget. They are eg. 50 dollars and more. Nowadays I download games from torrents. I want to ask that am I allowed to download or is there any other way?

Q: I wanted to know that as in our religion it is haraam to keep pics, statues,photos in the home because we pray only Allah (Ta'ala). Now I have a purse with a key chain. On the key chain a small dog is hung. I bought that key chain because I liked that doll. I don't pray to that doll. It is always hung to my key chain of the purse. Wanted to know is it right or wrong to keep that key chain with that doll.

Q: Would the use of emojis in SMS, Whatsapp, Viber, Telegram etc. constitute picture making (therefore impermissible) within the purview of Shar'iah? Emojis are small digital images consisting usually of smiley faces used to express an emotion.

Q: I was wondering whether it is allowed to do video logs or facecams for youtube videos! Does it depend on what the video is for, is it allowed it is it forbidden?

Q: A charity trust run under the stewardship of scholars is doing fund raising by means of video appeals in the Masjid Jamat Khana. In these videos faces of people can be seen. Ulama condone this by attending the programme in the Masjid. Is raising funds in this way permissible and is it permissible to broadcast such videos in the Masjid Jamat Khana?

Q: On whatsapp, which is an instant messaging service for smartphones, people can post a profile for themselves. Many people post a photograph of themselves, other people or other animate objects. Is this permissible? Please explain.

Q: With regards to pictures of human beings and animals on boxes, plastic containers, dolls etc. Is it sufficient to remove the eyes only?

Q: Is it permissible to have pictures of the Kaaba and Masjid-e-Nabawi hanging around the house? Also, is it permissible to have pictures of other Masjid’s?
