Q: My wife is a revert Muslimah masha Allah and she prays salah daily. Her parents are not Muslims and we do not live with them. Her parents have two dogs. I know that dogs are najis and haram. My question is that her parents are going to England for 5 days and they asked my wife to be in their home for 5 days because nobody is there to look after their dog by giving it food etc. My wife asked me if we can stay in their home for 5 days. The dog lives inside their home so what I should do? 

Q: If we have a pet (budgie) that is severely ill, what would be the best for us to do:

1. Do everything to treat him even though this costs much money that could have been spent on humans (one visit to the vet is about 60 pounds, with additional costs depending on what treatment they chose)

2. Let him live even though he suffers

3. Euthanasia

Q: Can a cat be fed cat food which contains animal derivatives?

Q: I want to know if it is ok to keep a duck as a pet inside the house, because somebody told me that according to Islam the sound of a duck is not ok in the house. Please let me know if it is correct to have a duck as a pet in the house.

Q: Can we use electric shock bats to get rid of mosquitos. It's an equipment which is moved in air if mosquitos touches it, they get killed by electric shock and sometimes they get burned. We tried using mosquito coils etc, but they become resistant to all these. In our area, diseases are common like malaria, etc caused by mosquitos.

Q: Is it permissible to use an eagle as a pet?

Q: What does Islam say about keeping dogs as pets? I am not speaking about keeping dogs for security purposes. I know that is permissible.

Q: Do animals have their own wish or do they do what Allah wishes?

Q: My father said that in its natural habitat, a cat will eat a rat. However, it is not permissible to give a live rat to a cat for eating. My father wants to know the reason for this and my father is causing an agitation on this ruling. What response do I give to this type of questioning and reasoning of my father?

Q: Is it permissible to castrate a male cat?
