Leaving the Home

Woman taking maximum precaution when leaving the home

Q: I was touched inappropriately by a bike rider while I was on a street. I was wearing an abaya and hijab. Is it due to some of my misconduct that Allah punished me or show me that I should seek forgiveness. I'm trying my best to avoid Haram things and doings. Then why all this happened??

I complained to the police just to report the incident, but can't proceed because I know the police here isn't that much effective. Kindly assist.

Women going to parks and gyms

Q: Allah Ta'ala mentions in the Quraan:

وَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ وَلَا تَبَرَّجْنَ تَبَرُّجَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ الْأُولَىٰ ﴿الأحزاب: ٣٣ ﴾

Translation: “Remain in your homes and do not exit from your homes displaying your beauty as would be displayed (by the women) in the former times of ignorance.” (Al-Ahzaab:33)

1. Many women say that they have to only live in their homes and cannot go out. They say that they also have hearts and they also want to see all other things outside like, the greenery, the parks and other things. Why do they have to only sit in the house?

Sometimes I also get disturbed. Please tell me so that my imaan gets strong.

2. Is it permissible for a woman to go to a nearby park or gym that is only for women for jogging and exercises with full pardah daily?

Women's freedom

Q: How did Islaam free the woman? I know about the whole inheritance thing right to divorce and all that. But I feel that saying Islaam freed the women is wrong because it didn’t free us. Its not freedom when your life and life decisions are controlled with your spouse or men in your family. How is that freedom? Like, I am not talking about the haraam freedom and all that. Sometimes I just wish for peace of mind sitting in a cafe that is 7 minutes away but I am not allowed to go unless my spouse feels like I can? While he can go wherever he wants whenever he wants and I am not even allowed to question him. Honestly speaking, I love my Deen so much but recently men make me get disappointed in some parts of it.

Travelling with a non-mahram

Q:

1. Is it permissible for a woman to sit in the passenger seat of a car which is being driven by a non mahram man?

2. Is it permissible for a woman to sit behind a non mahram man on a motorbike or bicycle?

3. Is it permissible for a non mahram man and a non mahram woman to sit next to each other?
